What is the turnaround time?

To analyze for an unknown mutation (a proband)...
Four to ten weeks. The RB test protocol takes between two and four weeks in the lab for most probands, and up to eight weeks for a minority.

For a known mutation (relatives of a proband)...
Analysis takes between two and four weeks.

Please note:
  • Not all cases analyzed lead to causal diagnosis! Some probands cannot be diagnosed after exhaustive testing by the latest methods. Payment in full is nonetheless required for all cases, even those for which the RB mutation cannot be identified.

  • We accept urgent cases, such as prenatal tests on a case-by-case basis. When accepted, such cases become our top priority.

Reports
Within one month of test completion, two reports are sent to the referring specialist. One report describes the technical aspects of the mutation for the referring specialist. Another report provides the specialist with sample text for the letter to the person in care or to parents. Solutions provides sample text only as a convenience, and not to dictate in any way the content of specialist's letters.
